Bhubaneswar, July 9 -- The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and SUM Hospital has become the first hospital in the state to establish a comprehensive in-house genomics laboratory, enabling patients to undergo advanced genetic testing without travelling to metropolitan cities, claimed authorities of the private healthcare facility on Thursday.
The hospital is currently the only medical college in Odisha and among a handful in the country with a functional in-house genomics laboratory, potentially creating a regional hub for genomic medicine in eastern India.
