Imphal, Aug. 21 -- The Imphal-Guwahati bus service via Nagaland's Dimapur resumed on Friday after more than three years, marking a significant step in the Manipur government's efforts to restore normalcy and strengthen inter-state connectivity following the prolonged ethnic conflict.

A total of 125 passengers left for Guwahati, Assam's key city, from Imphal in two buses and five wingers on Friday morning, as per the official release issued by the Chief Minister's Secretariat.

The resumption of bus services on National Highway-2, which had remained suspended since the outbreak of ethnic violence in Manipur in May 2023, was widely welcomed by passengers and residents as a positive development for inter-state travel.
