Imphal, Aug. 22 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday inaugurated a mechanised rotary parking facility at Nagamapal, near the Chunkhang Leirak entry, marking a new step towards addressing parking congestion and improving urban infrastructure in Imphal.
The facility is the first of four such mechanised parking systems proposed across the city.
It has been developed to help tackle the growing shortage of parking space in busy commercial and market areas, where increasing urbanisation and the rising number of vehicles have added to traffic and parking problems.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the facility, CM Khemchand Singh said that peace and dialogue were essential for the development of Manipur.
