Pune, March 18 -- Even as temperatures in several parts of the state have already touched 40degC in early March, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of unseasonal weather across Maharashtra.

A yellow alert has been issued for 22 districts till March 20, forecasting thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hailstorms.

Districts including Sangli, Satara, Pune, Ahilyanagar, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Parbhani, Latur, Dharashiv, Beed, Nanded, Hingoli, Nagpur, Wardha, Yavatmal, Gondia, Bhandara, Gadchiroli, and Chandrapur are expected to witness rainfall accompanied by lightning and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph.
