Pune, May 30 -- After weeks of intense heat and soaring temperatures, residents of Vidarbha may finally get relief as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the region over the next 24 hours.
A thunderstorm alert has been issued for the districts of Yavatmal and Amravati, while a yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been declared in other parts of Vidarbha.
The weather department has also warned of severe weather conditions in 15 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
