Bengaluru, July 24 -- Karnataka is bracing for another intense spell of monsoon rain, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) placing 17 districts under a four-day Yellow alert from July 25 and warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds across large parts of the state.
The weather office has also issued an Orange alert for Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts for Friday night, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Although the alert level is expected to be downgraded to Yellow from Saturday, the IMD said vigorous monsoon conditions will persist across the coastal belt until July 28.
