Panchkulla, July 20 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an active spell of monsoon rainfall across northwestern India, with Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh expected to receive widespread rainfall over the next three days.

The weather department has also predicted a 3-5 degrees Celsius fall in maximum temperatures across the plains of Northwest India during the next five days, bringing relief from the prevailing heat.
