Panchkula, Oct. 7 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi as a fresh spell of unsettled weather affects northwest India, with wind speeds likely to reach up to 60 kmph at isolated locations on October 7.

According to the IMD's All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued at 8:25 a.m., isolated to scattered rainfall is expected over Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi from October 7 to 12.

Similar rainfall activity is expected over Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during October 7-12.
