New Delhi, April 13 -- It has now been confirmed by India's official forecaster, the IMD, that the critical June-September season, which drives the agrarian and economic health of the country and the general well-being of its people, is expected to be below normal this year.
In not-so-happy news for the upcoming 2026 southwest monsoon June to September season, the IMD said that rainfall over the country as a whole is most likely to be below normal (90-95% of the Long Period Average (LPA)).
