Nahan, Aug. 18 -- Despite a ban on mining activities during the rainy season in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, illegal mining continues unabated, alleged social worker Nathuram Chauhan during a press conference in Nahan on Tuesday.
He stated that illegal mining is taking place in almost every mining area in the district.
He stated that the Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur had issued instructions to the concerned departments last month to stop mining activities during the rainy season, but these orders are being blatantly disregarded.
The various departments responsible for stopping illegal mining are failing to take action.
