Sambhal, March 10 -- A case of alleged illegal encroachment on government land has surfaced in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.
The Tehsildar court has declared the land as government property and ordered the removal of illegal constructions. A fine of nearly Rs 7 crore has also been imposed on the accused.
The allegations have been made against Aftab Hussain, the Shahi Imam of the Shahi Jama Masjid, and his brother Mehtab Hussain. They are accused of constructing a house, a mosque, and a dargah on approximately two bighas of Gram Samaj land in Saif Khan Sarai village under the Panwasa Block.
