Hyderabad, Sept. 25 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday paid tributes to Chakali Ilamma on her 131st birth anniversary, recalling her role in the Telangana Armed Struggle and her fight against oppression and exploitation.
In a message, the Chief Minister said Ilamma's struggle for land, livelihood and rights remained an inspiration for Telangana society and represented ideals of social justice, equality and self-respect.
Drawing inspiration from Ilamma, the people's government was according priority to the upliftment of Backward Classes, poor, women and marginalised communities, he said.
