Mumbai, July 29 -- A 20-year-old second-year student of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay was found dead in his hostel room on the institute's Powai campus late Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sohil Rajkumar Sangwan, who was residing in Room G-4147 of Hostel No. 4.
According to police, fellow students alerted the hostel authorities after Sangwan did not respond for a prolonged period. He was found unconscious in his room, following which the police were informed.
An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered at Powai Police Station under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
