Dhanbad, June 18 -- IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has launched a field visit and community-level capacity-building programme in West Bengal's Bankura district to promote high-quality millet cultivation and empower tribal women through entrepreneurship development.
The initiative is being implemented under a Coal India Limited (CIL)-supported Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities through skill development, value addition, digital marketing and market linkages.
According to IIT (ISM), the programme seeks to create awareness among farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and local stakeholders about millet-based livelihoods, nutritional benefits of millets and sustainable agricultural practices.
