Srinagar, June 4 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V.K. Birdi on Thursday visited the Baltal Base Camp in Ganderbal district to review security and logistical arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to ensure a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage.
Baltal serves as one of the twin primary base camps for the annual Yatra, providing accommodation and other facilities to pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine. The annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath will commence on July 3 and conclude after 57 days on August 28.
