Hyderabad, April 17 -- Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Friday said stringent measures are being implemented to transform the city into a drug-free zone.

During a visit to the de-addiction centre at Gandhi Hospital, he interacted with rowdy-sheeters undergoing treatment after testing positive for drugs and reviewed their progress with doctors and family members.

Police conducted drug tests on 239 rowdy-sheeters, of whom 188 tested positive. While 35 are undergoing treatment at the Gandhi facility, others are receiving counselling at different centres as part of a 15-day rehabilitation programme.
