Hyderabad, May 31 -- Goshamahal police have busted an online betting racket operating from Begum Bazar by arresting an alleged betting organizer, police said on Saturday.
Acting on specific information, a police team raided a house at Narayan Bhavan in Begum Bazar on Friday and apprehended Venu Gopal Sharma alias "Idly Venu" (59), police said in a release here.
According to the police, the accused was allegedly organising illegal cricket and racecourse betting activities through WhatsApp and other communication platforms under the name "Godavari Associates".
