Hyderabad, Aug. 1 -- Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) on Saturday facilitated a priority medical transit for the time-sensitive transportation of a donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli, to KIMS Hospitals, Minister Road, Secunderabad, to support a transplant procedure.
The donor organs were transported from CARE Hospitals to Raidurg Metro Station and then carried by Metro from Raidurg to Rasoolpura, covering a distance of 14 km across 13 stations in 25 minutes between 11.40 am and 12.05 pm.
Hyderabad Metro Rail said the operation was executed through seamless coordination to ensure the timely movement of the donor organs during a critical phase of the transplantation process.
