Hyderabad, Aug. 7 -- A Special Sessions Court for POCSO cases at HACA Bhavan has convicted a 45-year-old man in a child sexual assault case registered by the Banjara Hills Police in 2019 and sentenced him to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000.
The court convicted Mohammed Mohsin under relevant provisions of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting his 12-year-old niece.
According to a police statement on Friday, the offence came to light after the victim informed her mother about the assault, following which a complaint was lodged at the Banjara Hills Police Station on May 22, 2019.
