Hyderabad, July 25 -- The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will distribute five saplings free of cost to each household as part of the Telangana government's flagship Vanamahotsavam programme.
Under the initiative, each family will receive three fruit-bearing saplings and two medicinal or ornamental platd, a release stated.
HMDA aims to cover one lakh households under the programme during the current year.
The authority has invited Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, voluntary organisations and Colony Welfare Associations to partner in implementing the programme and facilitating the distribution of saplings.
