Visakhapatnam, March 30 -- : Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has trained 25 unemployed youth from weaker sections in Andhra Pradesh as certified marine welders under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The three-month residential programme, conducted from January 2 to March 30 at the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS), focused on imparting essential welding skills to enhance employability in the industrial sector, a release said here on Monday.

All 25 trainees successfully qualified for the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) 3G certification, officials said.
