Shimla, May 20 -- Himachal Pradesh has registered a major leap in national school education rankings, climbing seven places from 13th to 6th position in the Ministry of Education's Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 report.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday attributed the achievement to the state government's focus on quality education reforms.

He said the state had also secured the third position among states and had been placed in the prestigious 'Prachesta-2' category, calling it a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh.

Congratulating teachers, students and employees of the Education Department, Sukhu said the achievement reflected the collective efforts of all stakeholders associated with the education sector.
