Shimla, April 2 -- Himachal Pradesh government opened pre-primary (nursery) classes in 6,409 primary schools across the state, but stringent eligibility norms for teachers have led to a limited pool of candidates, prompting the state to take up the matter with the Centre.
Replying to a query raised by Dr Janak Raj in the question hours Education authorities Rohit Thakur said the recruitment of Nursery Trained Teacher (NTT) staff is underway through the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC).
A total of 6,297 posts of NTT teachers have been advertised, while the government plans to recruit 6,409 NTT teachers and support staff, including aayas, to operationalise early childhood education in these schools.
