Shimla, March 2 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has clarified that the pay of contract teachers would be fixed at 60 per cent of the pay matrix of corresponding regular teachers, with effect from January 1, 2016, till their regularization.
The Directorate of School Education, in a notification issued this month, stated that the clarification was being issued in light of recent orders of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in matters relating to fixation of pay of teachers appointed on contract basis.
