Hamirpur, Sept. 14 -- Himachal Pradesh Police on Monday reached out to students of NIT Hamirpur as part of the "Anti-Chitta Jan Andolan" led by state Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, urging the youth to come forward and help spread the message of a clean and safe Himachal Pradesh, while raising awareness about the dangers of 'chitta'.

Addressing undergraduate and postgraduate students at the NIT auditorium, DGP Ashok Tewari said the movement, launched under the Chief Minister's leadership last year,is not meant to remain merely a government or police campaign. Rather, it was a call to every young person in Himachal Pradesh to join the fight against chitta and help turn it into a people-led movement.
