Dharamshala / Kangra, June 12 -- Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Vice Chairman Ajay Verma today said that the long-awaited road improvement project from the tunnel to the bypass stretch in Kangra will commence shortly, as the contractor has already been issued the necessary work permission.
Responding to remarks made by the local MLA regarding a proposed protest over the condition of the road, Verma said the stretch had suffered extensive damage during last year's monsoon. Taking note of the situation, a proposal was sent to the Project Director of the National Highways Authority in August 2025.
