Nahan, Oct. 8 -- Churdhar, the highest peak in Sirmaur district, has received its first snowfall of the season.

Light snowfall began late last evening in the Churdhar Mahadev Temple complex and surrounding hills, followed by rain in the afternoon, covering the entire area with a blanket of white. Videos clearly show a thin layer of snow on the temple's roofs, stairs, and solar panels.

Following inclement weather and cold winds at the peak, temperatures suddenly dropped. Locals are delighted with the snowfall in Churdhar in the first week of October.
