Nahan, July 28 -- : The Sirmaur Taxi Maxi Operators Society, Nahan, today submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Sirmaur, demanding an end to the alleged illegal operation of private vehicles as taxis in the district.
The society stated that for the past two years, action has been taken against taxi drivers in the name of inspecting taxi stands, while the use of private vehicles as taxis in government departments continues unabated.
The society stated in the memorandum that this is affecting the livelihoods of taxi operators and causing them financial losses. They alleged that private vehicles are being used commercially in many government departments, but no effective action is being taken against them.
