Dharamshala, July 20 -- Police in Himachal Pradesh's Nurpur district intensified their drive against illegal mining by seizing one JCB machine and two multi-axle trucks during a midnight operation led by SDPO Jawali Veeri Singh.
According to a press note issued by the office of the Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, the action was carried out by a joint team of Fatehpur Police Station and the Quick Response Team (QRT) during a patrol under the district's ongoing special campaign against the illegal mining mafia.
The police intercepted the vehicles near Re Patan after finding them allegedly engaged in illegal mining activities. The machinery and vehicles were seized under the provisions of the Mining Act.
