Dharamshala, July 21 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Nurpur Police in Himachal Pradesh have placed two habitual offenders under preventive detention under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, 1988.
Acting on a proposal submitted by the Nurpur Police, the Himachal Pradesh Home Department issued preventive detention orders under Section 3(1) of the PIT NDPS Act. The two accused have been taken into custody and are being sent to the District Jail, Dharamshala, for detention, an official release said today.
