Ashok RainaNurpur, June 19 -- The Nurpur Police District has intensified its campaign against illegal mining and unlawful transportation of minerals, taking stringent action against 22 vehicles under the Mining Act during the past 24 hours.

Dharam Chand Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, told UNI that special checking drives are being conducted continuously across the district to curb illegal mining activities.

He said that as part of the ongoing operation, police teams carried out special checkpoints and surprise inspections in various subdivisions, border rivulets, and other sensitive areas, leading to action against vehicles found violating mining regulations.
