Dharamshala, Sept. 4 -- Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (Dr RPGMC), Tanda, has launched a year-long campaign to create awareness about 'organ and tissue donation' across Himachal Pradesh, as part of the national 'Jug Jug Jiyo Abhiyaan', initiated on the occasion of the 16th National Organ Donation Day.
As part of the initiative, the medical college highlighted its achievements in organ transplantation, clinical advancements and community outreach programmes, aimed at encouraging organ donation.
The Department of Renal Transplantation, which began its programme in June 2024, has so far performed 26 kidney transplants.
