Dharamshala, Sept. 4 -- Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama returned safely to his official residence in Dharamshala on Friday after completing a two-month-and-one-week visit to Ladakh.

A large number of Tibetans, devotees, well-wishers, supporters and local residents gathered along the route from Kangra airport to McLeod Ganj to welcome and greet the spiritual leader. Many carried flowers, incense sticks and white ceremonial scarves, or khatas, as they waited to receive him.

At the entrance of the Thekchen Choling Tsuglagkhang and the Dalai Lama's residence, members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and secretaries of the Central Tibetan Administration lined up to welcome him.
