Palampur, July 14 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar on Tuesday said a larger number of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-supported candidates had been elected to Panchayati Raj institutions across the state, which indicates a positive trend for the BJP ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
Congratulating the people and the government for the peaceful conduct of Panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh, Shanta Kumar said that Panchayati Raj elections hold great significance in a democracy as they also help determine the future course of political parties.
