Dharamshala, July 21 -- Local BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma on Tuesday alleged that the Vigilance case registered against former Dehra MLA Hoshyar Singh was an act of "political vendetta" by the Himachal Pradesh government and accused it of misusing investigating agencies to target opposition leaders.

In a press statement, Sharma claimed the case was motivated by political bias and aimed at suppressing dissent.

He alleged that the government had become rattled following complaints over the distribution of money by the Kangra Central Cooperative Bank and was targeting political opponents in retaliation.
