Siliguri, March 15 -- Ten climate-resilient houses for families affected by the 2023 Teesta floods were handed over on Sunday in different parts of the Teesta belt by Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, ahead of the issuance of West Bengal Assembly poll notifications.
The beneficiaries belong to Rangpo, Bhalukhola (Malli-Bhalu Khola), Tarkhola, Teesta Bazar and Bangey Bazar areas, which were severely impacted by the devastating floods. According to sources, the houses were constructed from the MP's personal salary, as pledged in the aftermath of the disaster.
