Mumbai, March 18 -- The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has appealed to the Maharashtra Government to either extend the deadline for payment of the annual licence fee or permit a staggered payment system, citing severe disruption caused by the ongoing shortage of commercial LPG supply across the state and the country.

In its representation to Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, who also holds the State Excise portfolio, the association has requested that the current deadline of March 31 be extended by one month to April 30. As an alternative, it has suggested a structured payment plan under which the annual licence fee could be paid in four instalments on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.
