Shillong, May 12 -- The Meghalaya High Court on Tuesday heard the criminal petition case filed by the state government challenging the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi by a lower court recently.

Sonam, the prime accused in the murder of her husband and Indore-based transporter businessman, Raja Raghuvanshi at Sohra in May last year, was granted conditional bail by additional DC (judicial), Shillong, Dashalene R. Kharbteng, on April 27, citing procedural lapses during her arrest.

The court said police did not adequately inform the accused about the specific section of the BNS under which she was arrested.
