Shillong, July 29 -- Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering her newlywed husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya in 2025, surrendered at a Shillong sessions court following the Supreme Court's order setting aside her bail, an official said on Wednesday.

"She (Sonam) surrendered before the sessions court on Tuesday," Vivek Syiem, the district police chief of East Khasi Hills, said.

On July 23, a division bench comprising Justices M.M. Sundresh and P.B. Varale set aside the June 29 order of the Meghalaya High Court, which had upheld the trial court's decision granting bail to Sonam, citing procedural lapses during her arrest.
