Kolkata, Aug. 8 -- A prosperous Bengal is a prerequisite for a prosperous, resurgent Bharat," BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya, MP, said on Saturday, calling on Hindu businesses and young entrepreneurs to lead the state's economic revival.
"For too long, our entrepreneurial spirit has been suppressed by politics of appeasement and stagnation. West Bengal was once the economic engine of Bharat, and it must reclaim that place, he said, addressing a conference of the Hindu Economic Forum, Kolkata Chapter. The conference was themed "The Rise of Sonar Bangla: Powering the Economy of West Bengal," according to a release.
