Shimla, May 16 -- Natural farming is emerging as a major pillar of Himachal Pradesh's rural economy under the Rajiv Gandhi Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana, with the state targeting procurement of naturally grown produce from 63,000 farmers this year.

A state government official said here on Saturday that the initiative was bringing economic, social, and environmental transformation to thousands of farming and horticulture families across the hill state by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring remunerative prices for produce cultivated through natural farming methods.
