Shimla, July 27 -- The Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Castes Commission has sought an explanation from the Shimla Municipal Corporation over reports that sanitation workers and supervisors were asked to submit affidavits stating they would not go on strike.
The issue came up during a review meeting of the Commission with NGOs and sanitation workers' unions chaired by Commission Chairman Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman here on Monday.
Dhiman said the Commission has sought a detailed report from the Municipal Corporation regarding the affidavits allegedly obtained from employees of the SEHAB Society, besides the proceedings of the meeting held among the Municipal Corporation, district administration and sanitation workers.
