Shimla, Sept. 13 -- Apple growers from Pooh, in the tribal Kinnaur district are facing a host of problems ranging from inadequate irrigation facilities and rising production costs to alleged lack of transparency in weighing, grading and payment of their produce by private buyers and controlled-atmosphere (CA) storage companies.
The growers have also raised concerns over delayed payments, unauthorised deductions, inadequate government marketing facilities and difficulties in accessing quality agricultural and horticultural inputs at reasonable prices.
