Shimla, May 7 -- The Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) has been selected for a national award by the union Ministry of Rural Development for its outstanding performance under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), marking a significant achievement in the state's rural road connectivity programme.
The recognition comes as Himachal Pradesh's total road network has crossed 42,779 kilometres, of which more than 22,000 kilometres have been constructed under PMGSY, providing road connectivity to thousands of remote villages across the hill state.
