Shimla, July 10 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday announced that the state government would develop disaster-resilient infrastructure worth Rs 3,500 crore to enhance the state's capacity to withstand natural calamities and minimise future losses arising from climate-induced disasters.
Addressing the valedictory session of the high-level workshop on "Towards Resilience Infrastructure Planning in the Western Himalaya" at the Dr Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) here, the Chief Minister said Himachal Pradesh, owing to its fragile mountainous terrain and changing climatic conditions, had become increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters.
