Shimla, June 24 -- In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have seized illegal assets worth approximately Rs 4.41 crore belonging to an alleged interstate drug syndicate headed by Mahmood Ali.
A police spokesperson said on Wednesday that properties acquired through proceeds of narcotics trafficking, including 12 small vehicles, one truck and three residential houses, have been identified and attached under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The case relating to the seized assets has been forwarded to the competent authority in New Delhi for further legal proceedings, the spokesperson added.
