Shimla, May 21 -- Himachal Pradesh has launched the ambitious 'Mission-32 Percent' initiative to increase the state's green cover from the existing 29.5 percent to 32 percent by 2030, to position itself as a model Green Himalayan State committed to environmental sustainability and climate action.

The initiative, being spearheaded by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, envisages large-scale afforestation, eco-restoration and community participation to strengthen ecological resilience and promote sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.
