Dharamshala, June 25 -- A state-level workshop on "Ease of Identification at Polling Station" was held at D'Polo Club, Dharamshala, under the guidance of Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Nandita Gupta.
Addressing election officials, academicians and experts, Gupta stressed that a simple, inclusive and technology-enabled voter identification system is essential for strengthening democracy and ensuring greater voter participation.
The workshop featured discussions on legal provisions, voter awareness, inclusion of women, transgender persons, migrants and tribal communities, and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies to simplify voter identification.
