Shimla, March 21 -- Himachal Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in the pension for Divyang (persons with disabilities), raising it from Rs 1,700 to Rs 3,000 per month, translating to an annual support of Rs 70,000. The move aims to strengthen social security for vulnerable groups.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated during the budget speech that in a major step towards healthcare support, the government would establish rehabilitation homes for patients suffering from psychotropic diseases. Additionally, hostel facilities for PWD (Persons with Disabilities) students would be expanded, with a dedicated facility to be extended in Sundernagar.
