Shimla, Aug. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Sunday called upon citizens, particularly the youth, to make voluntary blood donation a people's movement, saying there is no greater service than saving a human life.
Addressing the felicitation ceremony 'SAMVEDNA-2', organised by the National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFA) at Lok Bhavan here, the Governor said that despite remarkable advances in medical science, there is still no substitute for human blood, making voluntary blood donation an indispensable humanitarian act.
The Governor honoured social organisations, volunteers and individuals for their contribution to promoting voluntary blood donation.
